2018-07-02 Describe My Kids

This should be interesting to read in 10 or so years, right? 😊

Lincoln. Creative, loves building things (blocks, Legos, sand castles, etc), strong sense of fairness and right/wrong, honest, doesn’t like to be yelled at, loves reading, short temper, aggressive, fatigues easily (1/4 mile into a hike... “my legs hurt”), bossy, loves babies and small children, elephants, pretend play especially with stuffed animals, jokes & riddles, sweet singing voice but “hates singing” (he is singing made up songs as he plays Legos right now), playing with friends, especially cousins Jet & Jack, loves showing off facts he’s learned, playing with and building cars.

Parker. Recently found a love for reading (thank you, Stuart Little, Indian in the Cupboard, & Fantastic Mr. Fox), loves soft and fuzzy things such as his blanket, loves pretend play with stuffed animals and gives names to them (Fuzzy Head, Bear-y, Mr. Baby Dinosaur, Gus Gus, Nellie, etc...), loves outdoor play, particularly exploration, adventure, & building things like forts with raw materials, climbing trees & boulders & tall structures, super sensitive to personal attacks, plays well with others & makes friends easily..but expects them to initiate play, loves music (piano & singing), cooking, swimming, penguins and buffalos, riding, animals (cats & dogs), fast runner.

Griffin. Loves routine and expectations and completing tasks, green, alligators, great need for physical manifestations of love (hugs, kisses, lots of talks, etc), hikes, wears his heart on his sleeve—you always know how he’s feeling!—never a mystery, big emotions, building blocks & train tracks, wants lots of friends but has a hard time playing nice (usually hurts others accidentally), strong sense of fairness & right/wrong & feels guilty very easily, quickly recognizes when he’s done something wrong, loves reading, outer order and cleanliness, loves music particularly singing, riding bikes, deep and inquisitive thinker, living room dance parties, loves learning and is persistent mastering new skills.

Oliver. Silly, loves to laugh and make others laugh, loves to serve, obedient, Legos, people pleaser, red and rhinos, loves playing with older boys (especially Parker), sensitive to sin (cries when I yell unrighteously), artistically talented (drawing, painting, handwriting), ball sports (baseball, basketball), riding bikes, usually very chill and easy going, but occasionally is very headstrong about something seemingly insignificant, has a difficult time with reading comprehension yet can focus and respond to audio.

Charity. Loves all things girly (dance, princesses, dresses, makeup, pink & purple.. and yellow and blue), kitty cats & dogs, riding bikes, loves talking to people especially on the phone, loves funny over pretty, performing and being center stage, singing and music, babysitters, & older girls, reading (both when I read aloud and learning to read), coloring and cutting and gluing, her voice!—and facial expressions, hugs and kisses and cuddling, easily and routinely compliments others, plays well with others—loves to play especially with cousins Cora and Ada and Pearl, swimming, yogurt & pizza, sneaky and a difficult time with honesty.
