2018-07-21 Bird Family Reunion Pt 2 - Jet Boat Ride

Our family fit on 3 of these jet boats. They cut through giant rapids like they were nothing! I almost didn’t join because I was sick all though the night 🤢 but I’m glad I went since it was one of the best parts of the whole trip! We traveled upstream for 30 miles stopping at a few sandbars to swim, then returned back downstream.

We stopped at this bridge to jump off for some thrill. Parker and Charity were the only ones in my family to join in the thrill! It was about 30 feet from the water!

I handed Hazel one of the many tiny frogs all the kids were catching... and in it went! She thought it was gross so didn’t do it again, but so funny! 😂 

2018-7-18 through 7-20 Blessingway (& Visit) for Rachel

We had a type of baby shower for Rachel at Zupa’s - instead of focusing on the baby, we focused on her as a woman and mother. We made her a bracelet out of birthstones (hers & the baby’s) and took turns telling Rachel how we admire her. And of course the food was delicious! Any excuse to go to Zupa’s, right?!

Rachel was kind enough to let us stay at her house for 2 nights on the way to our Bird family reunion in Idaho. Fun cousin times!

Rachel made us pancakes 😋 (at almost 9 months pregnant!) I told her I would spend the night at her place if she allowed me to clean her house!

We visited the rec center in Bountiful (and sat near a drain... while we watched the kids)

2018-07-16 Charity’s First Haircut

And she did it again! She almost cut her ponytail clean off (under the band!). It was time we fixed it, as well as Griffin’s from a couple months ago. (He cut it off to the scalp in the front!) so haircuts all around.

2018-07-15 Happy Birthday, Lincoln!

Lincoln had so many people over to celebrate with him for his birthday! Can’t believe he’s 9! He’s a book-loving boy with a huge imagination. I love that kid. 

2018-07-13 “Steel Magnolias”

A few of us from SGCS Choir (plus Jenn & another friend!) went to the play “Steel Magnolias” out in Kayenta last Friday for a girl’s night. We went to support another member of the Chamber Singers, Rachel Cox. I loved it! That end scene had us all teary eyed! Glad I got to go. 

2018-07-11 Veyo Crawdad Canyon & Pool

Veyo Crawdad Canyon and Pool were definitely a hit this past Wednesday for nature school. Some of the children’s grandpa came and talked about living on the river and all about crawdads. Then we cooked a bunch on site and dipped them in butter to eat! I got over myself and help crack them open, too. 😜 Swimming at the pool was fun, too.
