24th of July - Pioneer Day Celebration

(July 24, 2013)

Utah is very into Pioneer Day, which is fun. When it falls on a weekday, they don't move activities to the weekend, which made it so Jesse was unable to come.

First, our stake had a breakfast and games. I forgot the babies' bottles... so we were only able to stay for one game - potato sack races. Lincoln was a champ. And he was pretty sad when I said we had to leave right afterwards.

I was surprised Lincoln made it all the way to the finish line, 20 yards away.
After the breakfast and games, we went home to get the diaper bag, and then drove over to Washington City to watch the Pioneer Day Parade.

Highlight of the parade (and also the police cars)
There were a lot of people dressed in pioneer attire...
We watched alongside Ashley & Kurt with their 2 kids, Jet & Cora.

This was the highlight for me - Elder Jeffrey R. Holland made an appearance (far right). Pretty cool to live in Utah!

Only in Utah will you see Jeffrey R Holland and the Stripling Warriors in a parade! That's awesome!
